MO Hybrid One-Day Virtual Person-Centered Thinking Training

Person-Centered Thinking (PCT) Training in MO is a 3-part process: Part 1 is the completion of the PCT eLearn course, which you have just finished. Part 2 is the one-day virtual PCT training with an IntellectAbility PCT trainer. Part 3 includes
completing an additional eLearn module on applying person-centered practices in MO. You will be given instructions on how to access and complete part 3 at the conclusion of part 2.

You are registering for Part 2, the one-day virtual PCT training. Topics to be covered will include:

- Creating a One-Page Description
- Considering culture when giving support
- Learning to be Process and Content Experts
- Moving supports from Power Over to Power With
- The Relationship Map
- The Communication Chart
- Good Day/Bad Day
- Reframing Reputations
- Person-centered matching techniques

Prerequisites

Completion of the PCT eLearn course.

** TO JOIN THIS TRAINING, YOU MUST **
- Have the Zoom app or access to Zoom.com
- Have a computer with a front-facing webcam - not a cell phone or tablet
- Have a built-in computer microphone or headphones with mic
- Have a strong internet connection
- Have the ability to print/access documents
- Use one of the following internet browsers: Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox
- Have a private or quiet workspace
- Have your own computer - we ask you not to share with others

Additional Info

After completing this form, your registration will be placed in a "PENDING" status until it is confirmed that you have completed the PCT eLearn course.

Once your registration has been approved, you will receive the following via email:
- A Zoom link to join on the date selected above
- Handouts to download (these are required for this training)
- Instructions to follow on the day of the training
- Trainer information
- Instructions for cancellation or rescheduling

PLEASE READ - To receive a certificate for this PCT training, you MUST:
- Meet the Prerequisites mentioned above.
- Be engaged in the training.
- Be in attendance with your webcam on for at least 85% of the full training day. Please note that attendance will be tracked via Zoom Analytics.
- Be on time. If you join the webinar 15 minutes late or leave more than 15 minutes early, we will not be able to issue a Certificate of Attendance for your participation.

Person Centered Services Mentor

David has nearly 16 years of experience working in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. He has worked both at the provider level and the state level as a training and project manager for GA Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental David has nearly 20 years of experience working in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. He has worked at both the provider and state levels as a training and project manager for the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). David has experience in transition initiatives for those moving from institutional to community settings and has also worked as a Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) interviewer for many years. He is a commissioned Mentor Trainer in Person-Centered Practices by The Learning Community for Person-Centered Practices. He is also a Charting the Life Course Ambassador through Charting the Life Course Nexus and a PATH & MAPS facilitator. He joined IntellectAbility in February 2016.
